Turn beautiful non-functional design work into a functioning website and begin selling the World’s Best Chocolate to online customers
Templin Brink Design came to SolutionSet with the need to build out the beautiful web template designs they created for Charles Chocolates. The showcase design work called for clean, pixel-perfect layouts to keep its design elements intact and extensive use of images for text and succulent chocolate photo imagery. In addition to the demands for perfection in the coding and layout of the website, a shopping cart technology needed to be implemented in order to sell Charles Chocolates online. Yahoo! Store had been preselected by the client for its easy store management. The only trouble: Yahoo! Stores aren’t known for their pixel-perfect layouts.

SolutionSet worked directly with Templin Brink Design to ensure that the working website would look as good as the designs. In developing the website, SolutionSet created a mix of clean semantic xHTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP so that the site’s coding foundation is as beautiful as its exterior. Because of this strong foundation and the separation of content from web markup, the site is lightweight, search engine friendly, and easy-to-update despite its heavy reliance on graphics for text and photos. Next, SolutionSet worked through Yahoo! Store implementation challenges to add e-commerce functionality. The final result: A sumptuous website that delivers on its promise of amazing chocolate to Charles Chocolates customers’ doorsteps, all with an easy-to-maintain website and product management system.
