Title: Java Developer
Department: Technical Services
Reports to: Technical Director
Overall Purpose:
Our team is looking for an experienced and innovative Java developer. “Experienced” means you know what you are doing and can show us proof of your work. As long as you can do this, it does not matter whether you have been in the workforce for two years or twenty. “Innovative” means that concepts like SOA and AJAX are not foreign to you. We appreciate individuals who experiment with new technologies on personal projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop custom solutions to our client’s specific technical needs
- Work with visual designers and front-end developers to scope and design complex user interfaces and data interactions
- Write and revise collaborative and functional specs
- Develop applications and databases
Qualifications:
The candidate must have proven ability and qualifications in the following areas:
- 2-5 years of objected-oriented programming experience
- Fluent in Java—intimate knowledge of java class libraries
- Proficient with server-side technologies including transactions, servlets, JSPs with demonstrable experience developing on Tomcat/Resin/Weblogic
- Strong JavaScript, CSS, and HTML skills—AJAX experience highly desirable
- Working knowledge of MySQL (or Postgres)
- Experience integrating custom functionality with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) highly desired
- Worked on or—even better—developed your own content templating system a plus
- Experience working at a consulting company a plus
- BS in computer science or equivalent
