Title: Senior Developer (Linux + J2EE)
Department: Technical Services
Reports to: Technical Director
Overall Purpose:
SolutionSet is looking for a web development expert. You are a Java and object oriented programming guru. You must be an expert in everything J2EE (EJB, JDBC, JSP, etc) and have a deep understanding of relational and object oriented databases. You must also be capable of creating interactive applications and solutions using open-source/ /linux-based languages (perl, php) and experience with ASP.NET is a plus. You must be able to write HTML code that validates according to W3C specs (HTML/CSS/ECMAScript) and code that works across the mainstream browser spectrum, especially with DHTML and Javascript.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop J2EE powered web applications
- Develop PHP and Perl powered web applications
- Produce web site specifications and technical design documents
- Convert technical specifications and design assets into websites and data systems
- Draft site/page diagrams and participate in the review process
- Publish websites on internal server or customer sites
- Quality Assurance testing on all work
Qualifications:
The candidate must have proven ability and qualifications in the following areas:
- 3-5 years experience in a web development role
- Expert in J2EE web applications & related technologies such as EJB, JMS, JDBC/SQL, Servlets, JSP, XML, & XSL
- Experience with Java, J2EE, JDBC, Struts, Tomcat & Java app servers
- Strong OO analysis and design
- Experience with Apache, IIS, Tomcat, & Linux, other Java app servers a plus
- Experience with WebLogic, MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle
- Building web projects in PHP, ASP or other dynamic server-side technologies which interface with SQL databases
- Solid understanding of relational databases including stored procedures, indexes, and schema design
- Experience with PHP and/or Perl a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- BS in computer Science or equivalent
