Title: Senior Project Manager

Reports to: Consulting Director
Overall Purpose:
SolutionSet Practice is looking for a top-notch Senior Project Manager to join our team. You are an ordered person who likes the challenge of reigning in chaotic projects as much as you like proactively and methodologically executing projects. You will manage the design and implementation of Web solutions for our clients, delivering premier, creative, complex, high-volume, high-visibility, enterprise-scale websites and web-based applications. You will manage several client relationships taking primary responsibility for all client projects. You will also bring your considerable marketing, creative, technical or strategic experiences to the table for your clients as a lead consultant.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
You responsibilities include: Project Management, Client Management and Consulting. As a Project Manager, your primary responsibility is to own the project, manage the project and ensure that all deliverables are met on time and budget. As a Client Manger, you will be expected to manage the day-to-day client relationship of multiple clients for your Consulting Director or Client Partner. Finally, as a Consultant, you are expected to bring your considerable online experience to bear in delivering solutions and providing advice to your clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Works closely with the internal teams and the client to plan and develop individual project plan, deliverables, timelines, detailing out specific critical paths
- Is responsible for the delivery of all documents including creative briefs, requirements docs, design specifications, technical specifications, wireframes, site maps, DB Schemas and Systems architectures
- Drives the project team to meet the timelines as agreed upon, maintaining the critical path
- Effectively negotiates issues that may arise through the project lifecycle to maintain the project integrity and schedule
- Escalates issues to Account Team or Client Partner that cannot be resolved within the project team that ultimately impact the schedule and/or project deliverables
- Holds regular team meetings to manage schedule, obtain updates, discuss issues and resolve problems with the project. Updates project schedules on a weekly basis and communicates changes to project team members and Account Team or Client Partner
- Communicates major milestones, priorities, bottlenecks and other major problems, which affect a successful delivery
- Ensures that project teams input hours, runs Weekly Reports on Project Burn and presents reports to Account Team or Client Partner
- Prepares Client documentation to include: Requirements Documents, Specifications, Status Reports, Change Orders, Client Approval Documents and Statements of Work.
- Manage Client communications regarding key deliverables, projects and strategies
- Manage multiple client relationships for Account Team or Client partner
Qualifications:
The candidate must have proven ability and qualifications in the following areas:
- 2 - 5 years web knowledge/experience
- 2 - 5 years web project management experience involving successful development and deployment (full life cycle) of consumer and business oriented websites and / or web based applications
- Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML / CSS / JS / XSL / Flash / SQL technologies / Web Services)
- Having coded one of these on a commercial site desired
- Must understand basics to be able to follow projects
- Must be able to read and understand a database diagram with the help of tech lead
- Must be able to explain inner workings of sites from a technical perspective
- Must be able to explain the difference between JavaScript and AJAX
- Must be able to articulate Flash / Flex features and uses
- Must be able to talk about Web Services, XML, XSL (server and client side), etc.
- Knowledge of hosting environments
- Must be able to articulate the differences between PHP, .Net, Java, Classic ASP, Cold Fusion
- Must be able to articulate the pros / cons of .Net vs. UNIX vs. LAMP environments
- Must be able to articulate the choices of dedicated vs. shared hosting environments
- Must be able to talk about DNS records, MX records, IP addresses with ease
- Must understand and be able to articulate https vs. http and where it’s used / what steps are needed
- Knowledge of SolutionSet technologies / projects (For higher level consulting staff)
- CSP architecture and projects
- .Net architecture and projects
- Application interface and development examples and technologies (xHTML/CSS/JS/Ajax)
- Flash / Flex examples
- Marketing / SEO / SEM examples
- Branding and Creative services examples
- 1 - 3 years experience managing clients in an Agency or Consultancy Environment
- Maturity and experience necessary to work with clients at various levels of the organization, especially Clients, Development and Creative Teams
- Excellent project management fundamentals, including project planning and scheduling (PERT/GANTT), risk management, and project reporting required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required; able to drive decisions and forward progress in the face of obstacles
- Excellent matrix management, team building and motivation skills required; able to effectively work with many different personalities to build a cohesive team
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver on time results; grace under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office 2003+, Visio and Microsoft Project
- Bachelor's degree or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
