Dynamic website infrastructure able to support heavy activity from a broad spectrum of users
After securing the Democratic nomination, John Kerry needed to build a scalable web infrastructure that would support an aggressive “e-campaign.” The new online “volunteer center” needed to work seamlessly with a large number of legacy systems and had to be able to grow with the increasing demands of the campaign as the election approached. Furthermore, new systems needed to have information architecture and functionality that supported a broad spectrum of users.
Solution
Complete website restructuring and creation of the Kerry Volunteer Center
SolutionSet worked with the internal internet team at the Kerry campaign to build out the most advanced set of online tools in politics. The Kerry Volunteer Center became a management portal for over 1,000,000 volunteers nationwide and supported some of the most critical fundraising, voter contact, and voter turnout efforts of the campaign. The feature set and flexibility of the tool set allowed the campaign to use the online program for innovative approaches to traditional organizing and fundraising challenges with tremendous success. The Kerry Volunteer Center now serves as the model upon which most online tools in the political space are built.
