Challenge
Do for shopping cart text messaging what Google did for AdWords
Venture-backed Modstream came to SolutionSet with the need to create an online application that would allow retailers and advertisers to create text messages via the web for broadcast to cart handles at stores and chains that have adopted the Modstream technology. Besides authoring and previewing the messages online, Modstream customers needed to be able to select targeted advertising inventory and timeslots for broadcast. The online application would also need to be able to communicate to the transmitters in-store.
Solution
Develop robust online application allowing users to create ad campaigns
SolutionSet began by creating a user-interface that would break down the process of creating an ad campaign into manageable steps. They then implemented a look and feel that enhanced Modstream's brand presence. SolutionSet created a working prototype, using .NET technology, which is known for its responsiveness, stability and extensibility. Developers also made use of extensive AJAX functionality, enabling site users to reorganize their message lines easily onscreen without cumbersome page reloads. A custom admin powering the site allows the client to add and manage Modstream site users, add and update store information, manage and edit website content, view and approve or reject users' ad campaigns, and get reports on available inventory. The final result: an industry-changing, user-friendly online application powered by a powerful, scalable backend.
