Title: Production Developer (CSS, XHTML, JS/DHTML front-end web coder)
Department: Technical Services
Reports to: Technical Director
Overall Purpose:
SolutionSet is looking for a hot-shot Front-End/Production Developer. This is a key role in the company's Technical Services Team. You will be involved in the design and implementation of Internet solutions for our clients, delivering premier, creative, entertaining, high-volume, high-visibility, enterprise-scale websites and other web assets. You must be able to produce mark-up language and some interactive scripting for web publishing of existing design work.
We'd like to meet you if you can:
- Cross platforms without tripping
- Speak fluent Browser, including lesser known dialects and vernacular (IE4+/CSS hacks) as necessary
- Appreciate web standards, W3C specifications and browser-specific peculiarities
- Understand how design and technology can co-operate to create more than a sum of parts
- Collaborate professionally with fuzzy logic devices (people)
- Respect deadlines and the value of achieved commitments
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop websites using hand-coded HTML (DHTML, JSP, ASP, etc.) using CSS with strict adherence to W3C standards
- Convert specifications and design assets into HTML ad units, websites, and jump pages
- Implementation of JavaScript where needed to enhance websites
- Alter creative designs in Photoshop and/or Image Ready (content and graphic changes) as part of HTML and graphic production process
- Integrating clean, lean, well commented front-end work with various server side publishing technologies and content management systems
- Build out HTML emails
- Extensive QA of all websites built, including cross-browser compatibility as well as cross-platform
- Publish websites on internal server or customer sites
Qualifications:
The candidate must have proven ability and qualifications in the following areas:
- 2+ Years of hand-coding HTML experience; WYSIWYG coding will not be considered
- CSS experience
- Experience building websites with ASP, JSP, JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
- Experience with InDesign, Visio, Adobe Acrobat a plus
- Be familiar with LAMP technologies, the more PHP experience the better
- Ability to apply image optimization techniques
- Knowledge of cross-browser portability problems and solutions
- Technical understanding of how Web servers and browsers work
- Experience working with rich media email
- Excellent communication skills
- BS in computer Science or equivalent
- Action Script experience and wide music appreciation a +
