Challenge
Redesign a site for an organization setting the standard for Digital Marketing
SFBIG approached SolutionSet with a flat HTML site (made by volunteers with time-consuming day jobs) for some help managing content updates for their many member events. At the time, the organization was growing and had recently gained non-profit status, and SFBIG began to think seriously about taking the homegrown, grassroots website to the next level and applying a fresh web presence that would demonstrate at a glance that their group was truly setting the standard for Digital Marketing in the Bay Area.
Solution
Establish visual hierarchy, implement best practices, and add CMS for easy content management
SolutionSet began by conducting a thorough analysis of SFBIG's existing site and establishing a visual hierarchy of important information. They created a design that used best practices for consistent navigation and web real estate, adding an eye-catching header graphic with Flash that made it appear to sparkle. SolutionSet developers took the design and created HTML templates which were then applied to a custom Drupal CMS backend, which would enable SFBIG staff to manage their own content and upload events through a user-friendly calendar system. Finally the SolutionSet team integrated the site with 3rd party payment processing systems so that users could purchase memberships online. The final product: an easy-to-manage, up-to-date site reflecting the personality and professionalism of the organization it represents.
